Developed in line with the existing "La Corsaz" neighbourhood plan, the building is located in the historic centre of Montreux, in a former industrial sector.
The site characteristics presented real challenges for the development process: the plot has just one single access point which crosses a residential area, the building is connected at basement level to an existing neighbouring building and backs onto a large retaining wall, the SBB tracks and the Baye de Montreux stream, with their historic low walls, form the southern and western boundaries of the plot.
Following the initial demolition of a disused industrial shed in 2018, the aim was to transform the site to create a pleasant living environment for future residents and users.
Comprising 18 flats for senior citizens, including 2 units fully equipped for wheelchair users, this development is complemented by a community room offering a place for residents to share their experiences.
