Rediscovered dynamism...
The expansion of the Jules Gonin Ophthalmic Hospital, on the same site since its creation a century and a half ago, marks a highlight in its history. The new building is in synergy with the old buildings, forming the historical setting of the imposing complex. The contrasts and harmony between the colour of the materials and the natural light offer an effect of enriching aesthetic duality.
In order to meet the requirements of a state-of-the-art facility, particular care was taken in the construction of the new operating theatre, especially with regard to patient flow. The rational and functionally exemplary design of the new operating theatre contributes to optimised surgical safety. All the work was carried out in full operation of the hospital.
