By identifying typical user profiles, scenarios can be drawn up to illustrate the use cases of a building or neighbourhood (living and social areas, outdoor facilities, types, etc.).

The method developed by CCHE, which is based on theoretical documents produced by the Zukunftsinstitut, illustrates potential users and their concrete interactions with the project through a playful and clear graphic.

While the study of lifestyles is a topical subject, it is also aims to create intelligent cities, green buildings and resilient neighbourhoods that meet the needs of future generations while preserving the environment. The study of lifestyles in architecture and urban planning is an essential tool for shaping urban spaces that are functional, aesthetic, sustainable and adapted to the needs and aspirations of their inhabitants.

The method developed by CCHE is based on theoretical documents produced by the Zukunftsinstitut.

Zukunftsinstitut proposes 18 lifestyles, which are conceived as prototypical groups. You can see a selection below.

More than an island, for a social vision

The Bussigny Residential Neighbourhood project involves transforming a brownfield site into a high-quality urban environment. Identifying typical user profiles has contributed to the development of a block articulating three flexible strata offering different forms of housing that can be adapted to the needs of residents. Each person can choose to live in the stratum that suits them best and set up meetings according to their preferences. In this way, community spaces are concentrated in the heart of the blocks, on the lively high-level promenade and the sports area.
