The Quartier de l'Étang is exemplary in terms of energy and ecology and has been built around a simple idea: to guarantee the best quality of life for as many people as possible. The gateway to the district, the Les Atmosphères block is entering its final phase and is already shaping up to be THE place for residents, workers, and visitors to meet, discover and experience. Three hotels, offices, shops, a sports and leisure centre including an indoor climbing gym, giant trampolines and an Escape Game, restaurants, as well as senior and student residences, all these different elements are fluidly orchestrated.
An 18-metre-high atrium, the centrepiece of the complex, gives Les Atmosphères a strong identity, while at the same time providing a breath of fresh air at the very heart of the building. Animated by the diagonals of the escalators and flooded with natural light, the emptiness of the atrium unfolds in organic shapes over three levels, forming an original central space overlooked by the glass roof. The combination of light colours and wooded surfaces, matched by the refined design of wood, glass and terrazzo, brings softness and tranquillity to the space.
On the first floor, and running almost the entire length of the building, there are hanging gardens. Far from being merely aesthetic, the vegetation here is in perfect harmony with the structure, providing a breath of fresh air both inside and outside.
Designed by the CCHE architectural firm and the result of a collaboration between its various subsidiaries, in perfect symbiosis with Implenia and Urban Project SA, Les Atmosphères offers a place that is open to the outside world, captivating visitors with its clarity and rich programming.
