Selected from 49 top-quality projects from across the country, the apartment complex was commended for being the most attractive and innovative facade in Switzerland.
The building stands out for its evolving facade, designed as a veritable social instrument. Thanks to its large folding and sliding elements, which are used by residents depending on their sunlight and privacy requirements, the facade is in a constant state of transformation.
This unique design helps to create a sense of belonging for international students. It strengthens their link with the IHEID campus and its environment which is located in the Nations district of Geneva.
The remarkable characteristic of the metal facade lies in its ability to combine simple aesthetics with technical efficiency. Its movable shutters regulate light, heat and acoustics, while revealing the building's various visual openings and private areas.
