Design and fit-out of a bespoke work café in the atrium of an administrative building for an international organisation in Geneva.
Designed and developed in collaboration with the catering operator, the space includes both a staffed service area with a counter offering light refreshments and a self-service area that makes the work café available throughout the day. The project was also developed in close collaboration with Nespresso to integrate its new Intervallo “on the go” concept.
Our teams conceived the space as a winter garden, enhancing the existing features and creating a dialogue between the site’s different assets, including the water feature and the trees. The materials, colours, furniture, lighting and plants were chosen to create an attractive, warm and welcoming place with the feel of a terrace.
The main challenge was to complete the work within a very tight timeframe on an occupied, high-traffic site, while adapting the existing technical systems. Our team supported the client, operator and users in developing a bespoke, innovative concept.
A varied range of furniture supports different uses and moments of relaxation: resting or holding private conversations in large, enveloping armchairs; taking a quick coffee break at high tables; or using the bench seating, equipped with power sockets and charging points, as an alternative workspace.
