CCHE (Porto) is the winner of the housing competition for the SRU Lisboa Ocidental at Santa Engrácia and Bela Vista à Graça, in Lisbon.
The jury emphasised the architectural quality of our proposal, which blends the two buildings into the surroundings in a simple yet precise way, responding to the consolidated urban nature of the Lisbon suburb.
These two projects, located on two different sites, respond to the desire to create new living models that promote and develop a social ethos and sense of community, yet with differing levels of interconnection.
The permeability of the ground floors is the key concept of this project, allowing visual and pedestrian transparency between the street and public spaces, a floor that separates the interconnecting flows between the buildings, bringing together communal and community spaces.
