This former Motel located in Lavaux, on the edge of the Cantonal road, has been refurbished in 2012 to become a four-star hotel. Built in 1965 by Alberto Sartoris, the building is listed in the inventory of Historical Monuments and its renovation has preserved the modern and classical style of the post-war period.
The complete renovation of all the façades and the upgrading of the technical installations did not change the original architecture decided by the designer. Like a boat moored to the vineyard wall, this large building has regained its white color, its majesty and its value. Its horizontal lines are underlined and the only striking intervention on the outside was the creation of a deck space, separating the parking area from the main entrance.
In the middle of the patio, a large pine tree has been planted as in the period drawings. A fully glazed elevator on the roof gives access to a new terrace with a breathtaking view of the lake and the vineyard. Despite the many constraints involved in transforming a building that is over forty years old, the Minergie requirements have now almost been met, without distorting the architecture.
