The transformation and renovation of the Perroy Beach Restaurant aims to create harmony between the three existing buildings, which are currently disconnected and characterised by austere façades. The restaurant and the fisherman’s hut are currently abandoned, and the space is occupied by a seasonal refreshment stand during the summer season. Although these buildings are in an advanced state of disrepair, their structure is in good condition. Rather than demolishing them, the project proposes a respectful approach that enhances the existing structure while breathing new life into it through targeted interventions.
The aim of this project is to enhance the site's openness to the lake and improve the circulation between the different functions of the buildings, thus creating a coherent and lively place, accessible to all the region’s inhabitants.
The restaurant will be redesigned to simplify its volumetry, free up the entrance and create an inviting forecourt. On the south side, the room will open up to a panoramic view of the lake thanks to large bay windows, strengthening the connection to the landscape. The existing canopy, opened to the lake to create more spatial transparency, will be transformed into a summer bar, adding an extra offering for the summer season and bringing a new dynamic for beach users. The fisherman’s hut will be converted into a sales point for fish from the lake, creating a direct link between local fishing and consumers, who will be able to take these products away or enjoy them on site. This initiative supports local consumption and short supply chains.
