Sixty years after designing them, CCHE has once again been commissioned to work on the La Borde residential towers. The renovation and regeneration project combines architectural heritage, sustainability and contemporary housing requirements.
The project covers the renovation of four residential towers and the redevelopment of their podiums and external spaces. Guided by architectural continuity, it aims to preserve the complex’s defining qualities – particularly its relationship with light, its urban siting and the surrounding cityscape – while adapting it to contemporary standards of sustainability, comfort and energy performance.
This commission is highly symbolic for CCHE and its work to transform and enhance existing buildings. It confirms the practice’s expertise and ability to guide historic residential developments into a new phase of their evolution, addressing current and future housing challenges.
