Route Neuve 7, Le Sentier – Foundation stone-laying ceremony

29.01.2026 · News

On 17 December, the foundation stone-laying ceremony marked a new milestone for the residential building at Route Neuve 7, which is set to enhance the urban fabric of Le Sentier. The event was attended by the client, as well as the team of architects and the site management team from CCHE La Vallée SA.

The first phase of the project, which was successfully completed, involved the demolition of the existing buildings as well as specialist works and earthworks, carried out whilst the Le Day–Le Brassus railway line was closed to traffic.

In the heart of Le Sentier, this new residential and commercial building offers 15 apartments for rent, comprising 3 studios, 6 two-and-a-half-room flats, 6 three-and-a-half-room flats, approximately 300 m² of retail space and an underground car park.

The project addresses today’s energy and sustainability challenges, incorporating high-performance insulation, district heating, photovoltaic panels and the reuse of excavated soil. The outdoor landscaping features native plant species to promote biodiversity.

Designed to meet current needs, the apartments feature a multi-purpose room suitable for remote working, and the building is fully accessible and adapted for older people and those with reduced mobility. The project offers a contemporary reinterpretation of the architecture of the Vallée de Joux, with façades finished in two types of render, a painted timber frame and patterned balustrades.
