As part of the renovation and development strategy for the Banque Cantonale de Genève (BCGE) branch network, CCHE has completed a full renovation of the Plainpalais branch. This project is part of a broader initiative to challenge principles tested in other branches and to define a strong architectural identity that can be rolled out across the entire network.
The interior redesign of the Plainpalais branch is based on an architectural concept that is functional, optimized, and resolutely contemporary. The primary challenge was to optimize the use of available space to create comfortable areas for both clients and staff, while integrating the security and confidentiality requirements mandated by regulations. On the ground floor, the reception area offers a seamless flow, with spaces adapted to varying levels of confidentiality. The private area includes client lounges and advisor offices, ensuring both comfort and discretion.
This project places the human experience at the heart of its design, even in spaces with limited natural light or significant acoustic constraints. Every detail, from the custom-made reception furniture to the finishes and color accents, has been thoughtfully designed to provide comfort, discretion, and a welcoming atmosphere. These choices reflect BCGE’s core values: authenticity, fairness, and courage. They reinforce the branch’s architectural identity while creating a welcoming, dynamic atmosphere true to the network’s spirit. The custom-designed furniture may also serve as a template for similar future renovations.
The nine-month renovation was carried out in close collaboration with the client and project partners. It showcases CCHE’s expertise in designing bespoke service spaces that successfully merge functional requirements with a strong brand identity.
