Inauguration of the new Pont-Rouge school: a major milestone for the town of Lancy
Yesterday, the town of Lancy officially inaugurated the brand-new Pont-Rouge school complex, a major architectural achievement that opens up new educational opportunities. Comprising 16 classrooms, a state-of-the-art gymnasium and extracurricular facilities, the new school also houses facilities for the Office Médico-pédagogique (OMP) for its integrated classes (CLI). This inauguration marks a turning point in the city's educational landscape, symbolizing its commitment to inclusive, quality education.
Pont-Rouge – where art takes pride of place.
As a competition prize winner, the "Au fil des Saisons" project places the school at the heart of a learning complex which brings together nature and culture in a connected and innovative environment. Art occupies a special place here and features works by two exceptional artists, winners of the competition organized by the town of Lancy’s funds for visual art. Pauline Cordier's work, which has been integrated into the structure of the building, adorns the gymnasium’s large exterior wall, bringing together art and education in a striking way. Similarly, the work of Angeles Rodriguez creates a harmonious link between the school grounds and those of the town hall, inviting contemplation and reflection.
A memorable event
The inauguration ceremony took place in the presence of the local and cantonal authorities, the teaching staff, and the partners and companies that contributed to the creation of this exceptional establishment. It was a memorable event that demonstrated the collective commitment to the town's educational and cultural future.
The project was designed and built by a multi-disciplinary team from CCHE.
