The Freistatt Thun selective tender competition relates to the planning and realisation of a residential complex on the Freistatt 1 site.
CCHE went through a reflective process concerning the development of the garden city and created a lively concept with an autonomous design, offering a delicately balanced neighbourhood to accommodate man and nature; a living space with a unique identity and an array of possibilities for all.
Our project pursues the objectives of the 2000-watt society and is based on an 83% wooden construction. Other themes which feature highly on the list of priorities are the retention and reuse of roof water and an array of new surfaces and vegetation to favour biodiversity. Existing trees will be retained as an integral part of the project.
