The consortium formed by Kuehn Malvezzi (Berlin) and CCHE (Geneva) has won the two-stage MEP for the renovation, reorganisation and upgrading of the contemporary art building in Geneva, which houses the MAMCO.
The winning project deployed technical solutions for the reorganisation of the interior and exhibition spaces and the addition of large openings in the façade at the entrance with minimal impact on the original building.
A WOLFSBURG modular partitioning system was developed, thanks to the Berlin office's experience in museum programmes, to allow for simpler implementation and, above all, the reuse of the partitioning elements during dismantling with a view to remodelling the space in preparation for a future exhibition.
CCHE Geneva, which acted as consulting architect during the call for tenders, will supervise the construction of this emblematic building.
