On January 14, 2025, CCHE took part in the Rencontres SEED event. Fabien Khaletzky (Landscape Architecture Manager) and Isabelle Ramel (Project manager urban planning) hosted a talk entitled: “Optimizing the built environment and empty space: two approaches for a sustainable urban climate”.
The SEED label for sustainable neighborhoods is responsible for organizing the Rencontres SEED event: it encompasses short exchange formats with specialists in building, sustainability, and neighborhoods.
For this first meeting, the themes of summer overheating, empty space, and circularity featured at the heart of the exchanges.
During the event, our team presented concrete solutions for resilient urban development, bringing together innovation and sustainability. Designed as decision-making tools, CCHE develops innovative methods to shed light on complex issues such as carbon footprints and heat islands and how these themes can be sustainably integrated into its architect-urban planner and landscape architect practices.
SEED (Next Generation Living) certification, promoted by the Swiss Association for Sustainable Neighborhoods, provides a framework for designing neighborhoods that combine respect for the environment, solidarity and innovation.
It is based on strong principles, measurable performance targets, and indicators for creating living spaces that can be adapted to climate challenges.
