The Social Cabin is a focal point of the Swiss Cabins hotel complex in Les Giettes. CCHE designed the interior layout with the aim of creating a place where people can exchange, share, and enjoy a wide range of experiences.
The project's approach was to work as closely as possible with the existing building, keeping demolition and material waste to a strict minimum.
The project is centred on a 'ritual' that forms part of the DNA for Definitely Different destinations. The Swiss Cabin Ritual consists of a series of diverse and playful experiences. At each stage, the initiate activates the ritual by pressing a red button, which triggers a coordinated sound and light programme lasting 10 minutes.
This interior design project was developed with the aim of working as closely as possible with the existing building, keeping demolition and material waste to a strict minimum. The transformation was carried out without any modification to the existing rooms and installations. Through the choice of paint, cladding, and equipment, the team was able to give this building a new lease of life and a new history.
1 Fight Room: an immersive combat room, entirely covered in tatami mats criss-crossed with LEDs.
1 Run Room: a running room covered entirely in grass.
1 Yoga Room: a relaxation area with a breathtaking view of the Alps.
1 Sauna: an entirely wood-panelled room with a wall of glass offering a breathtaking view of the Alps.
1 Ice Room: Simply pull the chain to enjoy the traditional "Nordic cold shower".
Once the initiation ritual has been completed, the initiated can go to the social room to share their experience over a drink. This central area also hosts a variety of activities, including cookery classes and film screenings.
