The Hotel du Bœuf takes us on a medieval-inspired journey through the historic town of Saint-Ursanne, otherwise known as "The Pearl of the Jura".
The Peanut hotels trademark is already well-established; the project tells a story by combining marked styles with simplicity of intervention. Between interior design and scenography, Peanut seeks to offer an immersive experience to those in search of surprises. The panel of tools remains free as long as it allows the codes of a universe to be revisited - natural materials, light and sound effects, colours, and wallpapers - always with an offbeat tone.
The renovation of the building is part of a local approach in partnership with exclusively Jura companies. Its development and realization, over a period of 6 months, required team investment and 100% commitment.
Whatever the hour, the salons open their doors to gamblers, where the most daring come to place their bets. The existing architecture, characterised by beams and woodwork, is underlined by an intoxicating play of colours and wallpaper.
Through the rooms of the merchant and the wanderer, the traveller is introduced to two characters from the medieval world.
The merchant is a devious trafficker of fabrics that he preciously hides in his trunk, and watches from his four-poster bed. The noble materials, velvet and gilding, reflect the different stages of his epic journey around the world.
The signage project preserves the essence of the facade, highlighting the spaces with black metal panels that take on the theme of cast iron, a rustic material specific to the medieval period. The symbolism of the flag is used throughout the hotel. To help them blend in, the directions are underlined by arrows painted directly on the walls.
