Developed within the framework of the competition to design the new Children's Hospital in Geneva, the project in partnership with the French office Carta - Reichen et Robert aims to increase the capacity of the Geneva paediatric site with the construction of new buildings for hospitalisation and ambulatory care. The new hospital complex defines a generous interior public park including a square that the new buildings are distributed around.

The facades, made of glass, wood and mineral, are treated in horizontal "layers". They reflect the spatial, functional and technical organisation of the buildings. The project favours the use of regional and sustainable materials. The use of timber frames on the facade guarantees excellent thermal performance by using simple, repetitive and economical construction techniques.
The reception, waiting and flow areas are generously dimensioned, well-lit and build relationships with the outside spaces. The aim is to design and propose an architecture that inspires confidence and reassures both children and their carers.
Plan ground floor, garden
The articulation of the hospitalization building to the existing building as well as the patios offer simple and functional logics of connection and circulation between the various spaces of the hospital complex. The relaxation areas on each floor improve the comfort of families.
Entrance hall
The bedrooms are built around a logical sequence of three functional spaces. It places the patient's bed in the centre and offers, along the façade, a more intimate living space for family time. This space is expressed in the layout of the façade which, thanks to a low podium, becomes a play area for the child.
