Energy-efficient renovation of facades
Built in 1968, this multifunctional building comprises a retail outlet on the lower ground floor, a regional bank branch on three floors and medical practices on the top two floors.
The building needed a complete replacement of its curtain walling, which had become obsolete and no longer met today's energy performance and concerns, and CCHE proposed a renovation that favoured preserving its original expressive nature.
This general planning and works management mandate had to include keeping the building in operation throughout the process of replacing the façades. Alongside the installation of prefabricated elements of a new envelope that met the agency's overall thermal and safety requirements, the heating and cooling of the premises was replaced by a new fan coil system installed in the joinery’s wall trunking systems.
This energy renovation enabled the building to obtain Minergie® certification.
