Work on the new Pont-Rouge school is nearing completion, and the building will be ready to welcome its first pupils at the start of the 2023 school year.
First prize in a competition, the "Au fil des Saisons" project sets the school within a learning park combining nature and culture in a close and innovative environment.
By incorporating learning and landscape into one, this project will offer children the chance to play and learn in a complete ecosystem that changes over time – not only over the course of a day, but also over the course of the seasons.
A new challenge for the development of this park was embarked upon with the installation of 5 oak benches made by a local sculptor - Michel Schmid - and designed by Arfolia's landscape architects.
These boomerang-shaped benches are carved from raw oak and weigh up to 4.5 tonnes! Find out more about this technical feat in the article which can be found in the Ajoie newspaper.
