The Suettaz district is about to undergo a key turning point in its redevelopment project with the demolition of the final buildings.
After contributing to the rapid development of Nyon by meeting the high demand for housing in the 1960s, this neighbourhood is now set to make way for a new green eco-neighbourhood. The project owners have chosen to accompany this change with an approach that is both respectful of the past and resolutely forward-looking, particularly in terms of support and communication with tenants.
In order to bid a dignified farewell to these buildings, the City of Nyon is currently rolling out a cultural and unifying project, including a temporary exhibition entitled “Your neighbourhood, your memories” and the launch of the participatory project “Inside Out.”
For many, the neighbourhood evokes memories and a certain old-fashioned charm, as highlighted in an article published in 24 Heures. Despite a touch of nostalgia, the redevelopment of the neighbourhood is viewed positively by tenants and the general public, a sign of the overall success of the project.
This iconic neighbourhood is preparing to write a new chapter in its history.
