With one year to go before the keys are handed over, on Thuesday the municipality of Montreux lifted the veil to reveal the progress made on the project. The 2m2c is set to become a little gem available to stakeholders in the region.
Built in 1973, the 2m2c is a major asset for the economy, culture, and tourism of Montreux and the wider region. In addition to the mandatory compliance work and optimising the building's energy efficiency, additional entrances are being created to increase the building's flexibility and allow it to host several events at the same time, thereby enhancing its appeal.
Innovative budget management
The innovative and strategic approach, aimed at maximising spending efficiency while preserving the integrity and quality of the project, made it possible to adhere to the project's management and budgetary framework in a context where the project’s complexity and size made budget management challenging.
Emphasis was placed on the structural and functional elements essential to ensuring safety, sustainability, and compliance with standards.
Controlling the pace of construction
The carefully orchestrated pace of construction is now enabling deadlines to be met despite the challenges inherent in a renovation project of this scale. This precise management of the schedule illustrates the commitment and mobilisation of all stakeholders involved in this iconic project for the Montreux region.
CCHE is proud to be the project designer and to be overseeing the construction work.
The 2m2Ccis scheduled to reopen at the end of June 2026, just before the 60th edition of the Montreux Jazz Festival.
