In addition to the layout design requirements of such an edition (240 pages), we have developed jointly with the author a comparative system of data, diagrams, plans and maps reworked at the same scales to facilitate the understanding of the different cases of cities studied and thus highlight the comments and results presented. A work on the formatting, homogeneity and rhythm of reading that invites the reader to return to the contents to better compare them.
Summary of the book:
In this book Fiona Pia analyses in detail different representative cases of high altitude cities (Verbier, Zermatt, Avoriaz, Whistler-Blackcomb, Andermatt,... ). The findings of her research define project drivers that lead the author to propose strategies for urban densification and "green" public mobility. The proposed results can be transferred to other Alpine cities and serve as a reflection to solve their contemporary problems.
